CSA 2024 Details and updates

January 17, 2024

Hello friends!

Thank you all for choosing to be a part of our farm.

There are a few changes this year and I want to talk more about the reasons and clarify the plan a bit as one of the things we have in our mission is a transparency with all of the people who support the farm. We hope that we have earned your heart's and stomach's for another year. If you read ahead and have any further questions or concerns please, reach out and we will be more than happy to talk about what will work best for you to get you a share.

Over the last few seasons you have been the motivation for us to do what we love. Many of our members have given us thoughts and suggestions and we want to do our best to listen to that and grow more member focused. We noticed that the last couple years we have seen that people go on most vacations in either July or August. To make it work best we though that offering the flexibility to our members to pickup as you go each week and pay as you go in the month of July and August would make that easier. We don't want you to pay for pickups that you are out of town, or make it so you have to much veggies to get through by doubling up.

We are including the option for our members to buy our Guide book hard copy at a discount. I finally feel like it is a great counter book that will empower you to cook with more confidence. If you would like to buy a copy the guide book is $ 8.00 for members and $15.00 for anyone else

The Spring is every week pickups. We have looked into the veggies that we have given previously in the spring, we are focusing more on getting more beets, turnips, radishes, peas and carrots in the spring to balance out the greens. We will certainly have them in the share as that is what tends to grow best in the PNW spring. We decided if we did this every week for this time we could give more variety and not to much bulk so you can get through everything but also have some things that you don't have to eat in that week.

The Fall is a separate share option. The fall boxes will be weekly with some items that have longer storage ability and you won't need to eat them as fast. As school starts and summer ends it will be easier to keep up with pickups .The fall share will start out with lots of the favorites: tomatoes and peppers eggplant and so on. We hope that offers this flexibility to support our farm when it works best for your routine.

CSA is an experience as we grow together as a community, connect with where food comes from and support a real local business.

We value transparency and work hard to ensure a good rotation and diversity of veggies to keep your weekly meals fresh and interesting, We will always send what looks best from the farm that week!

This image Below is from 2021 some things have changed since but here is what 2 people do by hand from seed. We are grateful for all the hands that stop by and help us keep all the little things together so we can get it all out to our members. We are happy to be able to continue to increase our growing areas, increasing our ability to grow more and spread out our variety.
